1. Garlic soup to increase platelet count

Ingredients

  • 6 eggs
  • 6 cloves garlic
  • Ham (50 g)
  • Hard or toasted bread (150 g)
  • 6 cups natural broth (1200 ml), made by dissolving 1 cube of vegetable broth in water
  • 1 small onion
  • 1 teaspoon paprika powder (4 g)
  • Extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon parsley (5 g)

Preparation

  • Begin by frying the bread slices in a pan with olive oil  until golden brown. When ready, remove from the heat and sauté the garlic.
  • Add the chopped onion to the garlic and remove the pan from the heat. Add paprika powder, put the pan back on the hob and add the ham.
  • Pour the vegetable broth into a large saucepan and bring to the boil. Add all the previous ingredients to the mixture, together with the parsley, and simmer  for 10 minutes over low heat.
  • Using refractory molds made of glass or ceramic, pour the soup into six different bowls and crack an egg in each of them. Then  put them in the oven that you have heated up to 175 degrees, until the eggs have started to harden.

2. Broccoli Salad

Ingredients

  • 4 cups raw broccoli bouquets
  • 1 cup sunflower seeds (200 g)
  • Chopped almonds or pecans
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (18 g)
  • 1 cup steamed carrots (115 g)
  • 1 tablespoon yogurt (12.5 g)
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar (20 g)
  • Extra virgin olive oil
  • Lemon juice

Preparation

  • Wash the broccoli and cut it into small pieces.
  • Spread them over a deep plate along with the carrots, so that you mix both ingredients.
  • Mix yogurt, sugar and lemon juice. Pour this mixture over the salad. Sprinkle some sesame seeds on top. Pour over a little olive oil and sprinkle with chopped nuts.

3. Juice with three flavors

Ingredients

  • 1 carrot
  • 1 small beetroot
  • 1 medium cucumber
  • 1 orange
  • 1 celery stalk
  • 1 cup water (200 ml)

Preparation

  • Start by washing all your ingredients.
  • Then cut them into medium-sized pieces so that they fit in the blender. Add the cup of water and  mix everything until you have a homogeneous drink.

Lentils and vegetables to increase your platelet count

Lentil stew

Ingredients

  • 200 grams of lenses
  • 1 carrot
  • 1 small onion
  • . Green peppers
  • ½ red pepper
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (10 ml)
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 3 cups water (750 ml)
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tablespoon paprika powder (4 g)

Preparation

  • First, wash the lentils and pour them into a saucepan with the water, bay leaf, paprika powder and a pinch of salt. Let these ingredients small boil over low heat.
  • Cut onions and garlic at the same time and fry them with a little olive oil until golden brown. Then add them to the lentil mixture.
  • In the same frying pan, sauté the green peppers in oil and add a little salt. Then add the peeled carrot in pieces and let it simmer for a few minutes. When the vegetables are cooked the way you like, remove them from the heat.
  • The lenses should be tender after approx. 30 minutes. When they are done, remove them from the heat and allow them to cool slightly before serving this delicious dish of yours to increase platelet count.
