Some studies suggest that sausages have a carcinogenic effect due to the amount of nitrates and nitrite they contain. Apart from that, other factors in the creation process have an impact.

In order for the sausage to last a long time and taste as good as it does, it is added many chemicals that many of us ignore. These are the main causes of health problems. In addition to these chemicals, which significantly improve the taste, the health risk increases due to the low production quality of these foods. Most, but not all, producers use meat and meat-like products from the Concentrated Animal Feeding Operation (CAFO), where the animals live close together in antihygienic conditions. The goal of such companies is to produce cheap food, this results in poor quality.

Very small amounts of quality meat are used in the production process. It is made from what many consider to be waste that includes cartilage, fat and intestines. High temperatures, bacteria, high sodium content, fillings, flavors and preservatives make these products a health enemy.

Many people are still unaware of the dangers of eating sausages. This is due to advertising and the market which has made the consumer “blind” and led to believe that it is not dangerous to eat sausages often. On the other hand, some of the manufacturers have come up with advertising strategies to reach consumers and create a form of addiction that is difficult to cut.
